Chicago Fall Activities

CHICAGO FALL EXPERIENCES

The air is crisp, the leaves are turning – it is officially Fall! Although the season can feel short here in Chicago, nothing quite compares to when those leaves turn a beautiful burnt orange and the sweaters come out of storage. You light the first of many fires in your fireplace and suddenly crave anything and everything apple or pumpkin spice. As we head into October, fall activities in Chicago are in full swing, so here are our top five Chicago fall experiences that you don’t want to miss, take out your calendar and pencil these in!

Open House Chicago (Oct 19-20)

Architecture & Real Estate will always be number one in our book, so buckle up for an incredible architectural experience. Hosted by the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC), the doors will open to some of the most architecturally and culturally significant sites across more than 20 neighborhoods throughout Chicago. Highlights include the Herman Miller Fulton Market experience (1100 W Fulton Market), Fourth Presbyterian Church (126 E Chestnut), and The Railway Exchange Building (Featuring tours from significant Chicago architecture firms – 224 S Michigan).

Graceland Cemetery Tour (4001 N Clark St.)

Did we forget to mention it’s spooky season!? Take a tour of this hauntingly beautiful cemetery that was established in 1860. Located in the north side neighborhood of Uptown, the Graceland Cemetery and Arboretum is the final resting place for many historic Chicago figures. Pay your respects as you appreciate the fall foliage surrounding you.

Fall Inspired Wine Tasting at Eataly (43 E Ohio – Oct. 18)

Elevate that after work drink with a guided wine tasting at Eataly. Located in the neighborhood of River North, this Italian Marketplace celebrates the food culture of Italy. Grab a slice of pizza, bowl of pasta or even a few groceries and don’t forget dessert from the bakery counter on your way out the door!

Jack’s Pumpkin Pop-up (1265 W Le Moyne)

Who doesn’t love a pop-up! This family friendly spot features an incredible pumpkin patch, food trucks galore and even a corn maze! Grab a festive holiday drink and wander the grounds with your friends and family. Don’t forget to take those pics for the gram at the many photo op scenes that are set up.

Lincoln Park Zoo Fall Fest (2001 N Clark St. Sept 27 – Oct 27)

Say hello to the lions (and tigers and bears – oh my!) as you enjoy Fall Fest at Lincoln Park Zoo. This month-long experience features free, as well as ticketed activities that will provide your family with lasting memories. From the Ferris wheel overlooking the grounds to the pumpkin walk and harvest maze, this iconic Chicago zoo offers it all!

Fall makes us fall in love with this city even more (corny pun intended!) and we’re always happy to share events throughout the city, so let us know what your favorite activity is! What makes your neighborhood extra special this time of year? And as always, if you’re planning a Chicago move we are always here to help!
